Today, there are very few mysteries that remain to be resolved by the Titanic.Books have been written, movies made, we have testimonials, letters, objects recovered from the depths and even interesting documentaries that lead us to that scenario sunk between silence and slime, which lets us intuit the greatness of that ocean monster, now asleep, immersed in a dream of eternal sadness.
In Lifestyle We have spoken to you on numerous occasions about the Titanic, but what do you think if today we delve into a not so treated topic? Have you ever wondered how many dogs were on board? Let's talk on this occasion of those four-legged travelers who, without a doubt, also deserve our respect and our memory.
The three canine survivors of the Titanic
The canine heroes that survived there were three to the tragedy of 1912.They traveled a total of 12 dogs of different breeds, but the providence, or rather, the space reserved for them was limited to how small they were and the way in which They could accommodate themselves on the skirts of their owners.Hence, only three faithful pets could be saved . Would you like to know their names?

- Sun Yat Sen, was a Beijing that belonged to a rich English businessman. The animal was saved because its owner, Mrs.Myra Harper, managed to reach a boat in the company of her husband and her dog, from which he refused to separate in all the time. All three were saved.
- Lady is our second protagonist, a little pomeranian who was traveling with her owner Margaret Hays.Do you want to know how? Did you save your pet? Hiding her in her clothes, no one caught her attention for carrying excessive weight when she entered the boat, and thus they both arrived in perfect state to New York.
- The third little hero was also another pomeranian whose name we don't know.He belonged to Mrs. Elizabeth Barrett Rothschild.

And what happened to the other 9 dogs? The water, and the low temperatures would take their lives, like those of the rest of those killed in the disaster. It should be said that all these dogs were owned by first-class travelers. Many of them were champions of beauty and, in addition, they were taken care of with great delicacy by the crew of the Titanic. It is known that they were being walked on deck every day, and despite the fact that the animals were not allowed to be in the cabins in the company of their owners , more than one lady did so.
It is also known that they were preparing for April 15 a kind of small dog show to distract the passage, also so that dog owners could wear their animals, beautiful copies of chow chow, spaniels, pequineses, terriers...etc.However that day never came, the disaster caught most of these dogs locked in their cages in the cabin enabled for them, hence for example , know that John Jacob Astor, a distinguished gentleman, would come immediately to save his animal when the tragedy began, coming to release all the dogs.
However, it was worthless. Most likely, those who were with their owners from the beginning were saved, those specimens were also smaller and barely attracted attention when the ladies boarded the boats. In fact, one of the saddest stories is that of Anne Isham , who asked to get on one of the boats to her Great Dane. They refused because of her size. And what did she do? He also refused to climb. He was not going to leave his dog.

And so he did.Unfortunately, four days later, the ship Bremen warned that he had found the body of a lady dressed in evening dress clinging to her dog. Both lifeless, drowned. Two more than many tragedies that happened that dark and cold night that writes by itself, one of the most intense events in our history.
