The human being has always presented "normal" and not so normal sexual behaviors. What is defined as paraphilia -a pattern in which the source of pleasure does not lie in the copula but in some other activity or thing that accompanies it-is precisely that "strange" behavior that produces excitement.Fetish, mania, preferences for clothes...anything is valid to feel pleasure. Even tears .
See someone crying...can it turn you on?
Dr.Mark Griffiths, director of the International Game Research Unit in the Psychology Division of the University of Nottingham, Great Britain , has published numerous articles where it is explained in the definition of a more common paraphilia than is believed, the dacrifilia or dacrilagnia.
This psychosexual disorder is that whoever suffers from it is only able to get sexually aroused with the tears of the couple .While it is traditionally associated with a form of sadism and implicitly indicates the potential presence of dacrifilic masochism, Griffiths broadens the definition and presents dacrilagnia as a possible extension of normative human behavior towards crying, that is, an extension of the desire to comfort and attend to those who mourn .

To do this, he went to online dacrifilic forums , which gave him interesting information; In broad strokes he was able to determine two different types that coexist within the dacrifilica community, those of sadic dacrifilic interests and voyerist dacrifilic interests, and that, in turn, generates at least three dichotomies: emotional interests; sadic dacryphilic interests vs.masochistic dacryphilic interests; individuals actively participating in dacrifilia vs.passively participating individuals.
The possible contrast between sadomasochistic and emotional inclinations of dacrifilia is of particular interest, since both poles occupy different aspects and almost opposite in the human sexual experience. In addition, the potential existence of sadism and masochism, and passive and active interests in dacrifilia, suggests that it is a non-normative sexual behavior with enough variety to address a more particular study.
Especially because if you consider this "sexual disorder" as an extensive Ion of human behavior towards crying, the question may be raised as to why some individuals get sexually aroused with tears.

In view of this, he proposed to do another study with his colleague Richard Greenhill, composed of interviews online to 8 people (6 women and 2 men), aged between 20 and 50 years old, 5 of them North Americans and the other 3 from the United Kingdom, Romania and Belgium. The participants were “recruited” through a forum specific to dacrifilia (CryingLovers), another fetishist in general (FetLife) and a third BDSM forum (collarchat.com).
While this study is insufficient, and the first in its genre, however gives foot for various conclusions, attempts, of course.Three thematic areas of dacrifilia were identified:
Compassion, Domination/Submission Curved lips or cr ispados.Half of the participants, all women, expressed their dacrifilia mainly through compassion, which means that enjoyed or excited by comforting .On this subject, the psychologist identified 4 subtypes within compassionate dacrifilia : dacrifilia as comfort; an awakening of negative feelings (sadomasochistic dacrifilia); dacrifilia seen as a duty; and subversion of society or gender norms.
For 3 of these women, the idea of dacrifilia as a comforting action is an important part of their dacrifilica identity.
Three of the others participants (2 submissive women and one dominant man) expressed their disorder mainly through domination/submission, meaning that they were excited by crying (in submissive individuals in consensual acts) or by crying .Although this type of dacrifilia is often characterized as sadomasochist , a more accurate way to define it is through domination/submission, and 2 subtypes were identified: emotional and physical pain; and tears and crying as a secondary component of domination/submission.All those who identified with these interests enjoyed both physical and emotional pain.
The last participant, man, not express or interests of compassion or domination/submission.He manifested his dacrifilia mainly with his attraction to the gesture of the lips when crying, becoming excited with the couple's twitching or curved lips while crying. Here the researchers got a rarity.

How already mentioned, the small sample (just 8 people) does not indicate the experiences of other dacrifilic individuals and may show some gender or cultural prejudice.Obviously a larger study is necessary, although the fact of having found three types other than dacrifilia in only 8 people suggests that if there are well-defined subtypes of the disorder.
Particularly, there seems to be a marked difference between those who experience sexual arousal through compassion, and those who are excited with domination/submission behaviors.
