How it affects your adult life to have had siblings
Dr.Caspi believes that if we had different siblings than we had, we would be people different .Beyond parental support, intelligence or personal skills, our fraternal relationships often lead us along paths in life that we would not have taken without them.Something as simple as to get a little time between siblings produces that, unconsciously, these strive to be different .This fact will eventually cause the formation of a character and tastes that could have been otherwise.

Although parents claim that treat all their children equally , recent studies have shown that in general this is not true .Parents devote more attention and resources to children who think they need it most , even if unconsciously.According to Dr.Caspi this will affect the adult life of the person, since the child will try to seek the attention of the parents on issues where he does not enter direct competition with his other siblings. His Initial interests will be modified without you noticing, which will change your inclinations and skills for the future.

According to this same study, having same-sex brothers makes you more competitive and on the contrary, have brothers of different sex , makes you more apt for teamwork .Dr.Caspi also emphasizes that the firstborn tends to observe the rules more and even be better academically, while young children , in an attempt to stand out, are often more rebellious and risky .These facts will accompany you throughout your life.
If the person has had parents who have made frequent comparisons between siblings, this will create much more competitive subjects and concerned about economic success .The brother becomes a reference of success or failure, order or disorder, goodness or evil, energy or passivity in childhood and this creeps into adulthood, resulting in the satisfaction of excelling among the brothers.

Finally a curious fact: according to a study from the University of Texas at Arlington, people with an older brother of the opposite sex link more than those who do not have it (heterosexual relationships). It seems that girls who have an older brother are more likely to talk and smile at the boys who approach them and men with older sisters have more ease to talk fluently and satisfactorily.
Do you think these studies are right? What place do you occupy among your brothers? How do you think it has influenced you to have had siblings?
